Credit Restoring Services

Times are tough and many of us have let one or more of our bills fall by the wayside.  Even when we fight our way out of the hole, those nagging blemishes on our credit report are still holding us down.

You may have a few debts that you have not been able to pay off so it’s a good time to take a look at credit restoration and how to go about fixing your credit and restoring your good name.

Quick Tip:

“Before you can fix your credit, you need to learn what factors play the role of tanking your credit in the first place.”

A few days ago CNN™ reported that the wife of a deceased man is suing a collections agency for the wrongful death of her husband.  She claims that they hounded him to death, literally, and as a result of the harassing phone calls he died of a heart attack.

Know Your Options

Perhaps if they had known about credit restoration consultants and credit restoration companies this could have been avoided.  Although we may never know if the collection agency played a role in the man’s demise, the irksome phone calls could have been curtailed by professionals who would have negotiated debt settlement with the creditor.  Sometimes these professionals are able to negotiate settlements for a percentage of what you owe.

Unfortunately, a bad credit report is not always of our own making.  Identity theft is a huge business these days so if you feel that your score is inaccurate you can always get a free credit report to check the validity of your score.

Free Report

By federal law you are entitled to a copy of your credit report and there are several ways to go about procuring one.  Many people just go online to companies like free credit report dot com and order a copy through them.  They, in turn, obtain a copy or your unique credit report from one or all of the three major credit bureaus, TransUnion™, Equifax™, and Experian™.

Something to be aware of here, while your first report is “free,” you are asked to provide a credit card number when you sign up.  If you don’t cancel the membership you will be charged a monthly service charge to continue getting reports as they “monitor” your credit.  Or if you have been denied credit you can contact one or all of the credit bureaus that gave you a bad score and request a free credit report from them.

Get The Help You Need

On the whole, debt settlement can be overwhelming.  If you have multiple issues that need to be resolved it would probably be in your best interest to look into the services of credit consultants.

Restore Your Credit

Restore Your Credit

They are well versed in the legalities and procedures necessary to assist you.  Your rights are protected by law but if you ever try to read through The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Ac, or FACTA as it is referred to, you will probably get lost in the legalize.  Although it is not always a simple matter, restoring your credit is possible, and your consultant will offer advice on how to avoid future problems.

By getting a handle on it now you may be able to restore your credit score by the time the economy picks up.  Just remember to listen to the advice your consultant gives you or you will be right back here again next year.  And I am sure you can find better things to spend your time on than credit restoration.  Good Luck!
