I know that I’m not the only one whose bank account has suffered over the past couple of years.  If you look at the Forbes 400™ list you will see that even the richest men in the world lost a good portion of their wealth in a twelve month period.

Take, for example, Bill Gates.  He is still worth 40 billion dollars but he lost 18 billion dollars in 2008.  Just think about that for a moment.  Ok, so he doesn’t have to worry about credit scores and whether or not he has negative reports in the credit bureaus.  But if you look at the staggering amount of money he lost last year then it is no wonder the rest of us are suffering.

If he had 58 billion dollars and his net worth is now 40 billion then that means he lost almost one-third of his net worth.  Let’s put that into the perspective of the ordinary middle class, blue collar worker.  If the average person suddenly took a one-third reduction in income they would be devastated, literally.

So, although our credit scores took the first elevator down we still have time to fix them before it is too late and restore credit.  Here is my thinking.  If we enlist the services of one of any number of credit restoration companies out there, they can begin to negotiate debt settlement in order to remove those blemishes off our credit scores.

Patience Is Key

It may take a while to rebuild our credit, but hey, it will also take a while for the economy to recover as well.  Early statistics show that it is slowly on the mend so I am optimistic for the upcoming year.

Tons Of Credit Cards

If I get started on it now then credit restoring will not only be a dream but a reality.  By this time next year I am envisioning being able to open my mailbox without shutting my eyes, grinding my teeth and reaching in with one hand in case something horrible is in there to bite me.

All I want to pull out is some random advertisement or an occasional utility bill.  No more threatening letters from my creditors.   I am going to let my credit restoration consultants do their debt settlement magic and once again I can answer the phone before the machine picks it up to intercept those uninvited bill collectors.  Wouldn’t that be nice?
